Educational Activities and Regular events
Annual Dance and Choreography Competition :
Each year a unique dance competition is organized by
Kalavardhini in collaboration with ‘Dadar Matunga Cultural Center’
in Mumbai. This is held during a convenient week-end in the month of
January or February.
The uniqueness of this competition is that after the
elimination round the finalists are tested on the basis
of their choreographic talents. Hence this competition is meant
for accomplished dancers who take up dance seriously. The objective is
to create awareness about quality and give further incentives for
Creativity.
This competition is conducted in Mumbai for more than a
decade and the Trust also plans to start a competition on the same lines
in Pune in future.

Nrityankur
:-
A platform is given for the young dance students to help them to become confident and better performers. This event is organized on 1st week end every year. The participants are the talented junior dance students of all the Kalavardhini branches. The head teacher of each branch choreographs a special composition for this festival. Kalavardhini course is now conducted at 30 different branches and this event gives opportunity for everybody to observe, assess, and enjoy each others progress.
Nritya Swad :-
A novel program series introduced by Kalavardhini for the first time, in Pune and other parts of Maharashtra since 1995 is called Nritya-Swad. It is a performance with focus on increasing audience appreciation for classical dance. It is usually a group performance with a single theme and introductions in dialogue form which makes the content easily reachable to the lay audiences. Each program in the series introduces a different theme forming a link between the traditional and the contemporary. It creates a right kind of base for the aspiring dancers to experiment and explore new themes from which new professional productions spring up.
PARIKRAMAA – Dance festival, Pune :-
Since 2008 Kalavardhini has launched a unique dance festival which features veteran as well as young professional dancers and musicians of today and tomorrow. Along with Bharat Natyam it brings together the best in all the other dance style. It also generates new thought process by way of symposium where the dancer thinkers freely express their ideas on dance related contemporary issues. True to Kalavardhini’s aim, Parikramaa festival takes into its periphery not only the musicians, dancers and scholars but also the rasika-s. Reading from the grand success of Parikramaa last year it is sure to continue each year with same success.
